As part of the McIntosh Group, Purcher International has invested in the future education of our industry by becoming a Registered Training Organisation – McIntosh Training Academy, developing an in-house apprenticeship program where students can benefit from a dynamic learning environment in our world-class facilities.

We aim to be leaders in the selection, management and training of apprentices for machinery dealerships.

As a Registered Training Organisation, our apprentices have the unique opportunity to start immediately on their practical and theoretical training supported by the RTO lecturers and senior trade specialists.

HEAVY DUTY DIESEL MECHANIC

Join a high-performing Service Team within a progressive, well-established Agricultural Machinery business.

What you’ll be doing:

Working as a Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic, you will join a team of Service professionals who have a great sense of pride in delivering an exceptional standard of service to our Midwest customers.

Your work will vary from being in the workshop – completing all fit outs of new and used Agricultural Machinery, prior to delivery – through to on-farm break down call outs and servicing.

What you’ll need to succeed:
  • Be trade qualified – Heavy Vehicle / Diesel Mechanic
  • Have sound hydraulics and electrical knowledge
  • Possess basic computer skills
  • Hold a valid driver’s licence
  • Have exposure to agriculture machinery (preferred, not essential)

LEADING HAND

We have an exciting opportunity at our Geraldton branch for a Leading Hand to join our skilled Agricultural service team.

We are looking for a candidate, that is ‘hands on’ and has previous experience in a leading hand role in aservice environment, preferably within Agriculture, and shares our value in putting our customers first and exceeding our service delivery.

The role:

  • Support the Service Manager by supervising workshop staff to ensure assigned work conforms to quality, safety, and productivity requirements.
  • Work to ensure people and resources are applied in an efficient and effective manner to meet allrequirements while achieving quality and safety standards.
  • Monitor the use of materials, parts, and tools to ensure the team have what they need and minimise waste and damage.
  • Provide support, direction and training as required.
  • Maintain a clean and safe workplace.
  • In conjunction with the Service Manager and other Branch Management, carry out incident, accident and non-conformity investigations and associated reporting and action closures.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • 3+ years’ experience as a qualified Agricultural Mechanic or similar
  • Be able to exercise considerable initiative/judgement in work methods and in interpreting anddelegating work requirements/goals
  • Strong communication skills
  • Hands-on approach
  • Strong customer service ethic
  • Be able to work cross functionally and collaboratively with many stakeholders
